Today we are going to be looking at social media and Mental Health. You can work in partners if you wish.

Questions. Use the article and your own experience to answer the questions.
1. What kind of changes has there been on teen mental health issues since smartphones/social media have become more available to the average teen?
2. What are some the negatives associated with large amounts of social media?
3. Are there any positive impacts of social media use?
4. What are some things that can be done to counter the negative effects of social media?

Body Language
We will start with a discussion and video on body language.

Get into groups of 3-5
Go to the following website and answer the questions in your group. Please hand them in via email or paper. One set of answers per group. Remember to include everyone's name.

1. Explain some information which we are able to get from another persons eyes while communicating? Use the article and your own experiences.
2. How about information/communication from the mouth other than spoken words. Explain what can be understood.
3. What can be communicated using arms and legs?
4. How about posture?
5. SKIT: Your group is to create two short skits.
One is to demonstrate poor communication, remember yesterdays work, I statements, tone etc. It should include poor distance and body language for the situation.
The second skit it to demonstrate GOOD communication, Good tone and body language that is appropriate for the situation.
EVERY group member must participate in both skits.
To be presented today for completion marks.
